Does resizing reduce quality?
Downscaling an image always discards a little detail, but this tool uses high-quality resampling so the result stays sharp. Upscaling cannot create new detail, so we match or preserve the original pixel quality.
What is the best size for a website image?
It depends on the container, but 1600px wide is a good default for full-width photos, 800px for half-width content, and 1920px for hero images. Combine resizing with compression for the fastest pages.
Can I resize animated GIFs with this tool?
For animated GIFs use the GIF Tools page, which resizes the whole animation frame-by-frame. This page is for still images.
Do you store my images?
