Why can't I open HEIC images on Windows?
HEIC is a modern, compressed format that iPhones use by default. Older Windows versions and many apps lack the copyright codecs needed to decode it, so JPG remains the universally compatible choice.
How do I stop my iPhone from taking HEIC photos?
