Frequently asked questions

How do I read Morse code?

Each letter is a sequence of dots and dashes. E is a single dot, T is a single dash, and there is a pause between letters. This translator shows you the exact pattern for anything you type.

How fast should I set the Morse speed?

Beginners usually start around 8–12 words per minute. The audio here follows the standard timing, so you can practice real Morse listening.

What symbols are supported?

The full alphabet, digits 0–9, and common punctuation such as period, comma, question mark and apostrophe. Unsupported characters are left out of the Morse output.

Can I use the sound on my phone?

Yes, playback uses the web audio API and works in any modern browser, including iOS Safari and Android Chrome.
